At the age of 8 she started her first business. Actually she & her few friends had a lot of story books, there were no libraries around so they started a small library for the building kids. Later in college she partnered with a family friend & started a NBFC. She was basically born as an entrepreneur with a keen interest in acting.
While in school Preeti got to be a part of a theatre camp & won a prize. That time she thought of being an actor. She told this to her parents & was told to first complete her graduation. As an obedient child she completed her graduation.
Preeti Mallapurkar is very fond of social work too. She is actively involved in educating children from the underprivileged sections of the society.
Later, she got married & was away from Mumbai and her thought of acting somehow fizzled out. In 2012 she started Ardent Staffing which is now Workforce Cloud Tech (India). Later in 2013 she set up Earnest HR a skill development company.
While talking about her experience she shares – “once when invited to give a talk to the fresh year MBA students in a renowned university here, I was talking to the students & telling them that they should be following their passion. When I was on my way back I thought what am I doing? I am giving gyan to them why am I not following my passion? I came back told this to my family & they were like- go ahead. Who has stopped you? For films I started preparing delegating my responsibilities by hiring the right person & eased myself out. I was now ready for the journey of my life. I started going for auditions, tried to give my best & did face a few rejections. Must have given 100s of auditions. Have travelled 3 hours one way for just one audition. But I was focused. During one such audition I was selected for a film; but had a family tragedy & had to travel overseas. Couldn’t take up that, but the same director offered me a role in his next film “Ishwari”, my debut film.”
