Laden Aala Re Aala | Exclusive Interview | Atul Todankar and Kaanchan Pagare

As we all know there is a super hit Marathi film Laden Aala Re Aala hitting the silver screen with all the success which released this Friday i.e. 6th October 2017. People are loving the film. Producer and director Nazim Rizvi has completely nailed it. On this occasion we decided to have a little chat with the wonderful actors of it- Atul Todankar and Kaanchan Pagare. Let’s see what they have for us.

  • MarathiCelebs : Hello and welcome Atul and Kaanchan. Film’s title Laden Aala Re Aala seems really interesting. What is the concept of the film?
  • Atul and Kaanchan : Hi, Thank you so much ! Well yes the film is as interesting as its name.
  • Atul : The film is basically situational comedy. In a small town there is a tendency that even smallest things spread very fast. Here we are showing the same tradition in comedy. How the small things become big issues and how funny such instances can be. Usually there is a limitation of actors in Marathi films but we have the whole village. And not only appearances but they all have dialogues and all are actors.
  • Kaanchan : Yes. Apart from this I would like to say that though it’s a comedy film but still there is not any kind of forced comedy. It’s an out and out comedy. It’s a complete natural and situational humor which makes it more real and beautiful. It has different flavors. As Atul said we have almost fifty actors in our film.

  • MarathiCelebs : What are your roles?
  • Atul : My character’s name is Gafoor Bhai. It’s a different and unique character even till my other played characters. I have never done such a role. So, this Gafoor bhai is a typical Konkani Muslim person. He has a different look, like for this role I had to wear Pathani clothes, Kajal and he was Konkani so he has that flavor in his language which is unique and amazing. Usually we see when there is a Konkani character then the default bearing held is Aagri but this is different and it made the character more beautiful and alive.
  • Kaanchan : I have an interesting role. My character’s name is Phaggu. It’s a unique name and as it has a bit humorous touch so does the character. Phaggu has no family, he helps everyone out. He is a person who is blamed for all the troubles and problems in this village. Whether it be his fault or not. I really enjoyed doing this role.
  • Atul : I would like to interrupt here. We have a saying in Marathi Karun Gela Gaav Aani Kaanchancha Naav. So his character is completely like that.
  • Kaanchan : But I love the uniqueness of character and I enjoyed doing it. It’s very situational, innocent and humorous.

  • MarathiCelebs : Well the title and characters seem very interesting. What do you guys think is the most appealing thing about this film?
  • Atul : The title of this film. We all know Laaden is not only a name but it’s a terror in itself. Understanding the risk of this name on global level and still accepting it and making a beautiful pure comedy film out of it is seriously an appreciation worthy effort. Our producer Nazim Rizvi has realized and handled everything so smoothly.
  • Kaanchan : I will agree on this with Atul. The title is a complete centre of attraction in itself. It was a huge responsibility to take the risk and make it worth but we were blessed with an outstanding team which made everything easy.

  • MarathiCelebs : How was the experience of the film and working with your co-actors?
  • Atul : Before working together we all are friends for many years. In fact Me and Kaanchan have a strong friendship of 20 years but we never got a chance to work together. In this movie we got that golden opportunity and it was magical. Apart from this Azim Rizvi debuted in this film and even he bonded well with us. The words can’t suffice the joy of this whole journey.
  • Kaanchan : Yes, all our old friends in fact our whole gang was there and it was priceless. Our friends Saksham Kulkarni, Kamlesh Sawant, Yatin Kadam, Vijay Patkar, Azim Rizvi. To talk about experience we would say when you work with your friends who are your family then the feel is very joyful and amazing. And Azim was a producer’s son but we all were treated equally, he became such a good friend in short time span.
  • Atul : Also, we shot in Konkan, near the sea shore and many beautiful locations which was the superb feel. Also in my whole acting career I have seen and blessed with a guidance of many great actors and I am more than happy to say that even in this film we all helped each other to improve our work.

  • MarathiCelebs : Would you like to share any behind the scene moments with our audience ?
  • Atul : Haha ! A whole book can be written about it. We had so much fun and wonderful memories. Well but if I have to share few then I would say, one day we all gathered and made a campfire in front of a beautiful cottage where we cooked the chicken in the pots on steam and it was the most delicious food we had. With the great company and a great ambience of course.
  • Kaanchan : Ya and once I went for a jog in the morning with my boy. Actually we were looking for a tea stall but couldn’t find any nearby so we went on and on enjoying the beautiful nature. Soon there was a man who spotted me and asked me not to run like that because if any Lion or Tiger sees me he won’t be able to control his hunger. It scared me to hell and I never went on a jog after that there.

  • MarathiCelebs : Would you like to give any message to our audience ?
  • Atul and Kaanchan : We (our whole team) have gave our best to deliver the authentic and beautiful different film which is a complete and surely entertainment package for all of our audience. We have a very rich culture in Marathi and we have tried to deliver the best for you so please go and enjoy the film with your near and dear ones.

Thank you so much Atul and Kaanchan for talking to MarathiCelebs.Com. We wish you all the luck for the film and for your future ventures.
