One of the prettiest ladies of the Marathi industry, actress Prarthana Behere recently got engaged to director Abhishek Jawkar. The affair was a private one and only the couple’s immediate families and a few friends were on the guest list. “It is an arranged match,” informs Prarthana adding, “We met through a friend of my mom and connected immediately.”
The Fugay actress and ‘Missing on a Weekend’ director met over coffee later and ended up talking about barach kahi. “Within 20 days after that ‘first date’, we had decided on the engagement date,” says Prarthana.
Like many other actresses, Prarthana was also questioned about the decision to get married while at the peak of her career but the girl has complete clarity about the same. “I think personal and professional lives are different and nowadays no one really thinks that an actress’ career is over the moment she gets married. In fact, I feel that the happier you are in your personal life, the better you can focus on your profession,” she says.
The announcement also means that link-up rumours between her and her What’s Up Lagna co-star Vaibhav Tatwawaadi will be put to rest. Quiz her about it and pat comes the reply, “Yes! Vaibhav was the happiest person when I told him about my engagement. Next time the three of us meet, I am going to click a photo and caption it ‘My real and reel partners’.”
Prarthana and Abhishek are getting married on November 14 and it might be a big affair. “We are planning to do a destination wedding, mostly in Goa. It will be a good change for everyone,” she informs.
