Boney Kapoor confirmed that Jhanvi’s first foray into Hindi cinema will be under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions. Karan Johar has recently acquired the remake rights of Marathi superhit film Sairat. Rumours were doing the rounds that Johar is considering Jhanvi Kapoor for the Hindi remake of Sairat.
Initially, there were reports that Johar was considering Jhanvi for Student Of The Year sequel. Jhanvi’s mother Sridevi made her debut in Hindi cinema with the 1975 film Julie.
Archie, female lead in Sairat, portraits a strong female character with a mind of her own. She is the strong girl who will do anything for her love.
Sairat is a Marathi blockbuster musical romantic movie starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar and directed by Nagraj Manjule. Sairat has become the first Marathi film to gross over ₹100 crore worldwide.
