Although it is largely known for its socially relevant themes, Marathi cinema is always open to experimenting with genres.
The newest addition to the list is a horror-revenge film titled ‘Kanika’. Featuring actors Sharad Ponkshe, Smita Shewale, Anand Karekar, Chaitrali Gupte and others, the film’s poster was recently unveiled. For Hollywood buffs, the poster is sure to strike a similarity with that of the horror film ‘The Ring’.
Kanika, produced by Sandeep Manohar and directed by Pushkar Manohar, will release on 31 March 2017.
