Amruta Fadnavis, who earlier walked the ramp at New York Fashion Week for the education of Girl child all set to walk the ramp again for special cause on 5th March in Mumbai initiated by her own foundation ‘Divyaj Foundation’. Giving the details of same she said, “Recently she was introduced to the girls who have faced acid attacks by the chief of Maharashtra State women’s council. She continued… I feel it is not right to call them victims or survivors, they are the victors. They are hurt – physically, mentally & psychologically but they are not broken. Among these girls there are two boys too. She further continues with, ‘This is the right time to give them their rightful place under the sun and for this cause some bureaucrats, celebrities & I will walk the ramp with these victors on March 5 in Mumbai organised by Divyaj Foundation.’
Amruta further said, ‘Giving them a stage is a beginning, a first step to rebuilt confidence in them as many people just avoid looking at them in spite of several surgeries, they gone through. Bollywood stars will walk with them for their encouragement.” She gets emotional while sharing age of youngest victor. ‘She is just 7 year old as my daughter. That child was just two when acid was thrown on her. Amruta admired her spirit of life & said that Divija will walk the ramp with her.’
Maharashtra’s CM Devendra Fadnavis & Pankaja Munde will be there as Guest of honour on this occasion. She also shared that, ‘they have also invited several corporates to provide appropriate employment to these bravehearts.’
