Veteran actor Sulochana was awarded the Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar on 25th January 2017 during the Star off screen awards organised by the Kalasanskruti parivar at Balgandharv Rangmandir, Pune. This happened to be one of its kind event and was organised to appreciate the talent of the backstage artists. The award ceremony took place in front of a packed audience with more than 20 celebrities performing. Awards were presented to the backstage artists wherein the categories where Spot boy, Light men, Cameramen, hairdresser, production assistant, production manager, artist coordinator & public relations manager. Jackie Shroff was the guest of honour for the day and was seen engrossed in a chat with various artists.

Vaibhav Joshi was seen promoting his upcoming movie “Oli Ki Suki”. The teaser looked interesting and gave a message that it’s never too late for a new beginning. “Ranjan” team was also seen during the award ceremony and they did speak about their movie, which is scheduled to be released on 17th February 2017. Jackie Shroff was seen interacting with the backstage artists. The respect and love shown by Jackie Shroff in the backstage community was impeccable.

Bhargavi Chirmuley and Sonalee Kulkarni gave splendid dance performances which brought the crowd to their feet. Sonalee Kulkarni gave an interesting analogy about Vitthoba & Rukhmai Devi stating that the backstage artists are the backbone of the lead actors. Sonalee shared her views stating that it was the unwavering support, dedication and devotion of the backstage artists which helps the actors in performing better and better. Sonalee and Sushant Shelar were seen chatting with various backstage artists along with her fans.

Star off screen awards, which was an initiative from Kalasanskruti Parivar, gave the honor and a moment of pride for the backstage artists who otherwise, always remain the unsung heroes.
