Indian theatre and especially Marathi theatre is blessed with many golden creations. To add up to this precious legacy Sushant Shelar and Atisha Naik came up with a wonderful musical dance drama Majhi Maay Sarsoti based on the life story of saint Bahinabai Chaudhari. This dance drama is produced by Jeevankala Anamika in association with Saisakshi. It’s directed by Harshada Borkar and choreographed by Sonia Parchure.
Majhi Maay Sarsoti is surely different from other dance dramas because it keeps you glued till the end and keeps you craving for more. Saint Bahinabai Chaudhari has blessed Maharashtra with her beautiful and precious pieces of poetries (ओव्या). She has shown the path of utter devotion, humanity and brighten up many lives with her thoughts. While watching Majhi Maay Sarsoti you can feel Atisha Naik living up to every bit of it as Saint Bahinabai Chaudhari. Sushant Shelar who hosts the whole play along with playing the character of Bahinabais son Sopandev Chaudhari swiftly guides you through this beautiful journey. Sonia Parchure is well known for her graceful choreography and here she has shown her magic amazingly. All the dancers make you feel that era and portray all the scenarios very beautifully. This play is worth a watch.
This play is conceptualized and written by Anuradha Ganu. The set is designed by Atul Joshi and lights are done by Shital Talpade. Music is done very well by Milind Joshi. Along with Sushant Shelar and Atisha Naik Manvita Joshi, Amogh Dake, Harshad Danve, Suhas Kale, Abhishek Salvi with 15 more artists have performed their parts perfectly. Majhi Maay Sarsoti is grabbing attention but for now they have planned limited shows, so experience this amazing dance drama soon.
